  • Astronergy ASTRO N7 achieves the LCOE Statement of Validation from TÜV NORD

Astronergy, a pioneer in n-type TOPCon PV modules, was honored the “LCOE Certificate for ASTRO N7” from TÜV NORD, outperforming three other types of PV modules in comparative studies conducted at PV plants located in Madrid, Spain, and the USA. Powered by Astronergy’s self-developed TOPCon 4.0 cell technology, ASTRO N7 boosts a power output of 630W. With the use of rectangular silicon wafers, ASTRO N7 achieves a 15.6% increase in wafer area, which enhances module efficiency and optimizes container usage, ultimately reducing costs for customers. These innovations have positioned ASTRO N7 at the forefront of cost-effective, high-efficiency solar solutions. TÜV NORD’s evaluation involved calculating the LCOE of Astronergy ASTRO N7 n-type TOPCon PV modules and comparing them with mainstream bifacial modules in the market. LCOE is a critical metric used to assess the average revenue per unit cost of a power plant over its lifetime and is widely used in the industry to evaluate the economic performance of different module products. Alexander Ohff, Executive Vice President Renewables at TÜV NORD, mentioned at the awarding ceremony, “ASTRO N7’s impressive performance and lowest LCOE reflect Astronergy’s dedication to product excellence and technology innovation. This certification highlights ASTRO N7’s potential to provide significant cost reduction and enhanced performance for PV plants.” In the USA calculation case, ASTRO N7’s LCOE, showing a 1.29% decrease, was the lowest among the four compared PV modules. Additionally, ASTRO N7 achieves a 33.95% increase in system power per tracker compared to another module, reducing the cost of controlling and driving parts in trackers by 0.51 c$/W. Featuring a shorter width of 1134mm in frame design, ASTRO N7 allows each tracking rack to fit an additional string of modules, thereby lowering mounting rack costs. “Receiving the LCOE Statement of Validation from TÜV NORD is a significant milestone for Astronergy. After the global launch in May 2023, ASTRO N7 has gained widespread recognition due to its advanced technology and cost advantages. We are excited to offer a solar product that not only enhances efficiency but also delivers tangible economic benefits to our customers,” said Haiyan Huang, EVP & CSO at Astronergy.
